The story of 3 cars, actually 4. God is so good!
December 13, 2012 – 11:35 amI have a great story to tell about the provision of our God! Before I do though, let me give you an update for our current fundraising campaign to finish 2012 financially strong.
In our goal to meet our projected budget for 2012 the Lord has blessed us with God’s people responding to it with generosity! God’s people are always generous! We only have about $18k to go! At the same time we only have 18 days to end the year which means that we will need about $1k per day! Piece of cake for our Ever Providing I AM!
Back to the 4 car story (you will really like it!)
First Car
About 3 years ago I asked one of the pastors in Ensenada, Baja California Mexico if there was anything he needed that I could pray for. He asked me to pray for a car. I went ahead and prayed with him on the phone never thinking that when I finished I would clearly hear the Lord said to me to give him my car. It was a step of faith because it was my second car and the one I drove everywhere to meet with people. I knew however that God had spoken and when He speaks, I better listen and do it! The pastor was really excited and gave all the glory to the Lord.
Second Car
A few weeks after I gave the car and had driven Marcia nuts by taking her minivan, someone at church found out that I didn’t have a car and gave me his car. His car needed some work but nothing major and fitted perfectly for the kind of moving around that I do. It was although I hadn’t given up my car. God knows exactly what we need and when we need it!
Second Car goes to Mexico
About a couple of months ago, the Lord called one of the believers we had trained in Ensenada, Jorge Peralta to become an evangelist with FTK. He had been sharing the gospel in Ensenada and taking youth with him to the streets but riding the bus sometimes or walking long distances to get to their destinations. The Lord put in my heart to give him the car I had received a couple of years earlier. This time however it was easy to make that decision because I had a pickup truck but with the gas prices, I prayed to the Lord that I will get another little car instead of driving the big truck all over the place. You know what’s coming right?
Third Car
Two weeks ago one of the men who attend the Bible study I lead told me that he had bought a new car and that he was going to look for someone to give it to! Guess who I suggested? ME! As soon I said it though, I heard that little voice again, this time the Lord pointed me to a lady in church that I heard had needed a car. She goes to the beach and streets to share the gospel in Oceanside. I thought well, if the Lord wants to bless me so that I can bless others, let’s do it with joy. The gentleman who gave me the car told me that it needed some work but then right there God showed me that I had to find a way to fix the car and then give it to her. As I write this, I’m waiting for the mechanic to tell me how much the bill is going to be. Pray that it is not much!
I went ahead and fixed the front brakes myself and also fixed the front lights and although still needs a lot of work, I showed the car to her and she was very excited that she would be getting a car. Isn’t God good? But wait, I still have one more car to tell you about.
Fourth Car is on the way
3 days after I decided to give the car to the lady, a gentleman called me from the Phoenix, AZ asking if I was willing to receive a pickup truck he wanted to give away instead of selling. Guess what I said? YES Baby!!! It is a little older (20 years old) but I was assured that it was in great condition! God is so good brothers and sisters and I’m so fired up about His provision to those who step out in faith to bless others!
A lot of us when God ask us to do something or to give something, we first look to see if we have enough but if the Bible is God’s word and God is who God’s word say He is, then we can trust that still small voice. I must tell you however that it is not always a voice, sometimes it’s just a matter of obedience to what God’s word has already told us to do like forgiving, sharing the gospel or loving each other.
I pray that this story will encourage you to obey the Lord whether it something He said in his Word or something that He may have whisper to your heart.
I hope that when you read this story, you give praise to the Lord, He is the one that orchestrates everything to work together for His Glory!

Thank you so much for your prayers and financial support!
