God’s Miracle in Tom’s Mazella’s life
August 20, 2008 – 1:20 pmGod’s miracle in Tom Mazella’s life:
I have had the privilege of seeing a lot of Tom Mazella these last couple of weeks. Most days he does well but once a week his body gets really tired. I continue to thank God for the miracle I believe He is doing in Tom’s life. Tom’s pain has decreased considerably and those providing for his well being have been able to cut back the amount of pain medication he receives. On Thursday, August 18, 2008 the latest cat scan revealed that the tumors had not grown and that several others had actually decreased in size. I have been going almost every day to give him a verse or two of the Bible. I believe God’s word is life and the more you know of it, the more life you will have in your bones!!!
I spent some time trying to configure his computer so that he could get podcasts of sermons from several good pastors that I listen to. I believe these will help him to nourish his soul. When I called him today, he said to me, “I listened to the first guy today” I said, “YES”!
He has a lot of eating to do to regain some of the weight but praise God his appetite is increasing daily. I told him that if it was ok with him and the doctors we could give him some good Mexican food with a lot of grease to help with the weight gain (Posole, Refried beans, Enchiladas, Spanish Rice, Carnitas and so on). Actually Marcia and I are thinking of having them over on Friday evening for dinner so that he can taste the fabulous food Marcia creates.
Our prayers right now are that he will get the weight needed so that the Doctors will begin treatment one again. (Remember: we are talking about a guy who a month ago was told by the doctors that he needed to call his close friends and family for a final good bye at the hospital).
Another prayer is that he will be able to withstand the pain and the doctors are able to discontinue this medication completely. Also pray for his ability to move around with more flexibility.
The last prayer I ask is that Tom will grow in the knowledge of Jesus Christ. That Jesus will be the first, middle and last thought of Tom’s day.
Last week was a good week for the Mazella family they received a lot of good news from the doctors. I wish I could tell you all the terminology the doctors used, but I forget. The only thing I remember from all they tell me is that they got good news. To that I say, Praise Jesus!!!
Seeing Tom fully at work and riding his bike along the coast again is something I see very often in my mind. I have asked God sometimes to bring me back to reality and not believe that kind of stuff but I just can’t. I see Tom living life to fullest again, I see him testifying of God’s power, I see him walking and playing with his children. I just can’t help it.
What I have concluded is that if God is God and He still does what the Word of God says He did, I should expect it, Shouldn’t I? Look at this verse from the Bible,
“Now Faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. For by it the men of old gained approval.” Hebrews 11:1-2
